Where do I begin ... I am an artist currently based in Chicago (having previously called several other states home).

I paint. I doodle. I've dabbled in pen & ink, watercolor, silk painting, acrylic, random effects with fingernail polish, layered torn paper, oil pastels, et cetera. I've sold a couple of silk paintings and a couple of acrylics so that I suppose is where I will claim to specialize.

This website will forever be a work-in-progress. I add new things as I paint them (and occasionally as I rediscover old work to scan), add new comments when I think about them, and fiddle with the page design whenever I get bored (or, more likely, when I'm procrastinating regarding something more important).

I have been focused on acrylics-on-canvas the last few years. I feel myself being drawn back to watercolor, but haven't successfully battled the problem of framing works on paper. (More than half the glass in my framed work broke when I shipped my belongings to Chicago in 2005 and I thus deduced that framing artwork is more hassle than it is worth. Thus my enthusiasm for canvasses that can be displayed as-is.)

I have divided the website up into "The Gallery", which is essentially the artwork hanging on my walls at the moment and thus available for sale, and "The Attic", which is all of my artwork that has been scanned or photographed. The Gallery contains only photographs of the work itself. In The Attic, you will also find descriptive text (of varying detail depending on my mood).

Many of the works in "The Attic" are not available or suitable for sale (pieces that have been sold, given away, or practice doodles). However, many other pieces are available, but haven't been upgraded to gallery-status as they are unframed or in broken frames and not quite up to snuff. If you fall in love with such a piece and don't care about its less-than-professional condition, we can work something out.
